PeaceMaker is a new type of game.
Granted, nobody with Binary Culture has played it yet, so do not take this as an endorsement.
It has, however, the potential to change the world. Literally.
PeaceMaker focuses on the Israel-Palestine conflict, placing players in the shoes of both states' leaders with an objective of striking out a peace accord within a set amount of time.
Sounds bloody brilliant. Albeit, not necessarily bloody ...
But it is part of a new wave of video games on the threshold of starting something new and meaningful. It is just one of the many coming "Games for Change".
Games for Change is actually more of a gathering of like minds on the Internet. This group of developers calls themselves a branch of the Serious Games Initiative.
And if you asked my opinion, I would tell you that they are not only making games, but making history.
Count on hearing a lot more about this genre in the future -- even if it isn't from anyone but me.
