Hello everyone.
I'm just writing to let everyone know of two very important events that I will be covering for Binary Culture over Memorial Day weekend.
Firstly, I will be doing daily coverage from Fanimecon in Downtown San Jose, CA. This event is one of the largest anime conventions in the country, hosting over 10,000 fans in San Jose's convention center. Fans will be able to get previews of upcoming shows, as well as attend panels with famous figures in the anime industry, including Hiroyuki Yamaga, President of Gainax. My daily updates will include panel highlights, coverage of the Fanime Music Video competition and my overall experience at the Convention. Look forward to it!
The other event is the Play! symphony which will be in Downtown San Jose on May 26th. Play! is a traveling symphonic experience paying tribute to video game music through the years. Music from classic games such as Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Warcraft will be played by a world-class orchestra conducted by grammy award winner Arnie Roth.
After contacting Play! I have been invited to a private dress rehearsal for the press as well as a meet and greet/Q&A session with Jeremy Soule, the man behind the music of popular games such as Guild Wars and Morrowind.
As the date grows closer I will be posting more information about Fanime and Play!, so make sure to keep an eye out.
Jeremy Snow is the Anime Editor and has been very busy. He will return with plenty of reviews very shortly!!
