This is Where We Fight; This is Where They Die

Sullivan, despite his somewhat diminished role here, is the calm and collected brains of our operation here, so we can count on him for talking about things like this year's E3 with calm and cool detachment.

I am the firey loins of Binary Culture, no amount of calm or collection is to be expected from me. When Sullivan handed me the keys to the castle, I told you all that if and when I handed them back to him I wanted him to find the site not just as well as when he stepped back, but better. I said that I wanted to make 2007 the biggest year that Binary Culture has ever had.

Continued behind the scenes effort by Franklin Da Costa, webmaster Macario Reyes, as well as former EICs Stephen Webster and Sullivan Smith have laid the groundwork for me to be able to make a claim like that and give me the time and space to bring an ever expanding roster of talented contributers to the site like the irreverent James Clemonts, Joystiquiera in Residence Karla Miranda, superhero enthusiast David Baldwin.

We've also got three new contributors waiting in the wings; Ben, Chris, and Secret Agent Zero. No one has lived long enough to find out Ben and Chris' last names (Chris is the enigmatic being referred to in James' Akagi review and my Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya one).

Secret Agent Zero is my protege in California, conducting subversive acts on my behalf. With any luck, content from him will start filtering in soon.

Of course two of my most important weapons as Editor in Chief are my group editors.

Matt Cohick was my pilot project for a group editor since he jumped back into the scene with a PS3 and the drive to make himself a regular fixture here at BC. Since then he's succeeded in opening up a whole new scene for us; peripherals. He's got more great stuff coming in that arena including a wireless guitar, while David Baldwin will be test driving a Wii sensor bar. I have no idea what that is, but Matt and David do, so I'll let them handle it.

I originally had plans to bring Jeremy Snow in as a regular anime reviewer, but in our first AIM conversation you'd think he was auditioning for Editor in Chief. That man has big ideas for the site that uncannily mirror my own secret machinations, so I turned him loose on the whole anime department, and in less than a month he's showing me up. Go read his newest blog.

So my point is this. Those assholes didn't invite us up to their little treehouse? Fuck them. All that really means is that they will not be part of what's going to be an incredible summer for us here at Binary Culture. I've seen what's coming down the pipe and I know what our writers are making noise about and planning in secret, and I can tell you this much for certain; Summer 2007 will be epic. 300 epic.

Mark Osborne, Editor in Chief of Binary Culture, is not a motherfucking happy kitten.
