The Franklin Mint and 20th Century Fox got in hot water with the U.S. Mint over their "Rise of the Silver Surfer" quarters, which were released over Memorial Day weekend.

Apparently, altering a coin into an advertisement is illegal. Who knew?

This, my friends, is why research before releasing a product is important.
